- Instagram has never published a native application for Apple iPads
- This could soon change, as a leak claims that an iPad application will soon come
- For the moment, you can install an Instagram web application while you wait
Instagram has long been lacking in a native iPad application, but it could soon change, at least according to a complaint for information. This could be good news for fans of iPad and Instagram who are tired of having to use another device for their favorite social media site.
The information report quotes an Instagram employee who is supposedly knowledge of the plans. This worker states that Instagram Meta developer hopes to take advantage of turmoil against Tiktok – who could be forced to sell his American business under pressure from US President Donald Trump – to target Tiktok users who could look for an alternative application.
Although Instagram never had a native iPad application, you were able to execute it on Apple’s tablets for a while. Indeed, iPads are able to run applications designed for iPhone, although in the case of Instagram, the experience is not well optimized for the Apple tablet.
Instagram recently targeted the owner of Tiktok, Bytedance, in another way, launching a video editing application entitled Modification designed to compete with Capcut de Bytedance. CAPCUT has recently been deleted from the Apple App Store due to federal restrictions on the applications of its parent company.
How to install Instagram on your iPad
Although we are waiting for an Instagram native application on the iPad, you can really add the social media site to your Apple tablet in the form of a web application. It works as a normal application, so it can be added to the IPAD reception station and found in the application switch.
First, go to Instagram.com in Safari and log in. Press the sharing sheet button and select Add to the home screen> Add. This places a web application on your iPad that launches Instagram. Press the application icon that appeared and connect again.
That’s all you need to do. The web application has some restrictions on the native iPhone application of Instagram – you cannot publish images, for example, but you can browse flows, send direct messages, such as publications and add comments.
For the moment, this method will be enough if you want an Instagram application on your iPad. But with a native application on the way, bypass solutions like this might not be necessary much longer.
