Is it time to upgrade your iPhone? iOS 27 would drop support for four iPhone models

  • iOS 27 would drop support for four iPhone models
  • These include iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and iPhone SE (2020).
  • iOS 27 will likely be announced on June 8, so maybe we’ll know for sure then

While most Android manufacturers now commit to supporting their phones for a certain period of time, Apple doesn’t, so we never know exactly when a specific model will stop being updated. But a new leak suggests that four iPhones that received iOS 26 will not be eligible for iOS 27.

This comes from leaker Momentary Digital, posted on Weibo (via 9to5Mac), who has shared a full list of phones they expect to receive iOS 27. And it’s a long list, with everything from the iPhone 12 series supposedly in line for the update – but notably, that means the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone SE (2020) are excluded, well that they are all running iOS 26.

If this information is correct, it’s not very surprising, since these are all old phones: the iPhone 11 series will be seven years old when the iPhone 18 line launches in September, and the iPhone SE (2020) is only about seven months newer.
