‘It was inevitable’: Meta blames RAM crisis on Quest 3 and Quest 3S price hikes, but fans still think it’s still a good deal

  • Meta increases prices of its Quest 3 and Quest 3S virtual reality headsets
  • The company blamed the price rise on “significantly” higher costs.
  • Users are disappointed but say the products remain good value for money

The Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S are incredibly good virtual reality (VR) headsets. In fact, they are some of the best VR headsets money can buy. Part of that is the good value for money they represent, but that’s just hit a roadblock as Meta has announced it will be raising the price of both devices as early as April 19, just two days from now.

According to an article published on the Meta website, the price increases will affect both the Meta Quest 3 and the Meta Quest 3S in many markets around the world. Meta said the changes were made because “the cost of building high-performance VR hardware has increased significantly,” with the exorbitant cost of memory modules almost certainly being the main culprit.
