Justin Bieber took the stage on Sunday during the first-ever FIFA World Cup final halftime show, delivering a stripped-down acoustic performance that stood out amid one of the most spectacular new spectacles in sports.
The July 19 show at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, marked a historic moment for the tournament, the first time a World Cup final featured a Super Bowl halftime performance.
The 11-minute show featured Shakira, Madonna, BTS and Bieber, with the Canadian pop star opting for a more intimate moment while performing his hit Alleluia from his 2025 album Loot II on the guitar.
Bieber, 32, was confirmed as the fourth headliner on July 8, when FIFA and Global Citizen made the joint announcement.
He expressed his excitement about participating in the occasion at the time.
“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together like no other. I am grateful to be part of this halftime show, and even more grateful to know that it is already helping to expand access to education for children around the world.”
