King Charles sends best wishes as royal family prepares for big reunion

King Charles held a personal meeting to check everything was ready as he prepares to mark a major milestone in his monarchy.

Buckingham Palace has shared some highlights from the king’s surprise visit to London, as he is expected to reunite with all the working members of the royal family for The Trooping of Color.

On Friday Charles, who is Colonel-in-Chief, visited the Grenadier Guards at Lille Barracks in Aldershot, where he offered his best wishes.

He said the soldiers would have “great success” and expressed confidence in the troops.

“You will make us very proud of you,” he told them.

“Earlier today the King came to wish the Grenadier Guards good luck, ahead of Trooping the Color tomorrow,” read the message alongside the highlights carousel.

“At their company base in Aldershot, His Majesty spent time with some of the troops who will be parading for the King’s official birthday in London.”

Even though Charles’ birthday is in November, Trooping the Color is the monarch’s official birthday. It is a long-standing tradition of the royal family, celebrated with a parade.

This is a particularly important year for Charles, who faced two major extremes during his reign. After being marred by royal scandals and controversies, the monarch was also praised for his display of diplomacy during the visit to the United States and for the initiatives he took during his reign.

It would mark all of these achievements as the monarchy continues to face challenges.
