Buckingham Palace released a statement signed by King Charles on Saturday to mark a historic moment aimed at maintaining peace amid ongoing unrest.
The king, who is expecting American guests as part of the ongoing family saga, took a moment to mark 250 years since the United States Declaration of Independence.
“Over centuries of shared challenges and achievements, our nations have built a relationship based on friendship, trust and belief in freedom, the rule of law and the dignity of all,” he added.
“As we look ahead to the next 250 years, I am confident that we will continue to uphold our shared values. The bond between our people is one that I hope will only strengthen with time.”
This statement comes just days before Prince Harry returns to British soil with Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
