King Charles received a special artistic tribute from a young admirer during his visit to Norfolk.
Seven-year-old Olivia Rickards presented the monarch with a hand-drawn portrait as he arrived for Sunday’s service at St Mary the Virgin Church.
The colorful artwork showed the smiling king in a blue suit and tie, accompanied by a heartfelt message that read: “Dear King Charles, thank you for caring for England, you are doing a wonderful job. »
Alongside her father Terence on the grounds of the Sandringham Estate, Olivia presented the drawing and received a warm handshake from the monarch.
True to his well-known sense of humor, Charles looked at the portrait and joked, “At least I’m smiling in the photo.” »
This sweet exchange offered a moment of levity in a busy period for the King, who has recently been the subject of several official portraits since his Coronation in 2023.
Among the most notable was Jonathan Yeo’s spectacular red oil painting unveiled in 2024, which depicted Charles wearing his Welsh Guards uniform.
The monarch also continued the tradition of royal portraiture with an official naval photograph and the publication of his coronation state portrait alongside Queen Camilla at the National Gallery.
Charles arrived at the church in his Lotus Eletre electric SUV before joining the Reverend Canon Dr Paul Williams, Rector of Sandringham, for the service.
This visit comes at the end of a busy week for the King. Earlier, he welcomed Andy Burnham to Buckingham Palace and invited him to form a government in a private audience.
