Legendary New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor has been hospitalized with a stomach problem that his lawyer says is not life-threatening.

Attorney Mark Eiglarsh released a statement Monday saying Taylor authorized him to let people know he had been in the hospital for a week with no release date set.

The 67-year-old Pro Football Hall of Famer is under medical observation for a stomach-related issue and is showing signs of improvement.

“Lawrence asks me to pass on his sincere gratitude to all those who have thought of him and kept him in their prayers during this difficult time,” Eiglarsh said in the statement.

Taylor is considered by many to be the greatest linebacker of all time, and perhaps the best defender to ever grace the gridiron.

THE LEGEND OF THE GIANTS LAWRENCE TAYLOR, 67, HOSPITALIZED AFTER MEDICAL EMERGENCY: REPORT

The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year helped the Giants win two Super Bowls, while reaching 10 consecutive Pro Bowls, making eight All-Pros and being named MVP of the 1986 season.

Taylor remains the Giants’ all-time leader in sacks, which also includes his 9.5 sacks he had during his rookie season before sacks became an official NFL stat.

Taylor’s number 56 was retired by the Giants and he eventually reached Canton, Ohio, entering the Hall of Fame in 1999.

However, Taylor faced off-field issues, including legal issues after his playing years. He also had drug problems, which led to health problems later in his life.

In 2011, Taylor pleaded guilty in New York to felony charges of sexual misconduct and patronizing an underage prostitute. He was sentenced to six years of probation and ordered to register as a sex offender. Taylor was also charged in Florida with failing to update his address in the state registry in 2021 and 2024.

Taylor showed his support for President Donald Trump in 2024, during a rally in Wildwood, New Jersey.

“I grew up a Democrat, and I always was a Democrat until I met this man here,” Taylor said to applause. “No one in my family will ever vote for a Democrat again.”

Taylor made headlines for the Giants last year when he quickly refused Abdul Carter’s request to wear Taylor’s number 56, retired by the organization since 1994, one season after his retirement.
