Lionel Messi has a habit of making history and on Tuesday, during Argentina’s Round of 16 match against Egypt, the star striker entered his name in the Guinness Book of Records for an unwanted feat.
The Argentine legend missed his fourth career World Cup penalty and his second in the ongoing tournament, setting the record for the most missed penalties in FIFA World Cup history.
Argentina were already 1-0 down when they were awarded a penalty, a golden opportunity to equalize and Messi stepped up, aiming for the right corner, but Egyptian goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir stopped the ball from going into the net.
