It was an early outing for the eighth head of Louisville Cardinals, who lost against n ° 9 Creighton, 89-75, in their original state from Kentucky to March Madness on Thursday.
In the last moments of the game, the frustrations boiled.
Louisville’s head coach Pat Kelsey was called to a technical fault after having shouted to an official, but it was the least disturbing incident.

While the two teams huddled due to the fault, a fan threw a bottle of water on the ground towards the bench of Creighton, which caused a minor delay.
“It was a complete bottle of water. It was very dangerous, and it passed just above the Creighton bench,” said Brian Anderson, Play-By-Play advertiser. “I will tell you, the one who did it should never be allowed to resume in this arena again.”
Creighton head coach Greg McDermott used a towel to wipe the water.
Jamiya Neal scored a 29-point career summit and succeeded 12 rebounds, while Steven Ashworth connected well beyond the arc on the 22-point path.
The Bluejays of McDermott (25-10) won their fifth consecutive match of March Madness and beat a team classified in the top 10 for the second time this season. Louisville (27-8), despite his not impressive sowing, entered n ° 10 in the top 25 of the AP.

Chucky Hepburn scored 22 points and Terrence Edwards Jr. had 21 for Louisville (27-8), which improved his record of 19 victories last season with a heavy transfer list under Kelsey, a first-year head coach. It was the first appearance of cardinals March Madness since 2019, and they met a Creighton team with a lot of experience in the playoffs.
“They played well today. They were the best team,” said Kelsey.
