Matt Damon Shares One Major Family Rule He Follows With His Wife and Daughters

Matt Damon has opened up about the one “non-negotiable” family rule he strictly follows with his wife, Luciana, and their four daughters as the couple prepare to become empty nesters.

Talk to PEOPLE in an interview published on Friday, the 55-year-old actor admitted that although the evening rule was established to ensure quality time with his daughters – Alexia, 27, Isabella, 20, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15, it is not always perfect.

Damon confessed that external distractions sometimes creep in, noting that they can all be improved upon when it comes to keeping work away from the dinner table.

He remembers a telling moment when one of his daughters pointed out to him that they hadn’t really talked to each other at dinner the night before.

Damon explained that it made him realize how easy it is to get lost in a daily routine and forget the very reason for creating the tradition, calling it a family “mindfulness” lesson that they are all actively working on.
