KARACHI: Producer and lead actress Meera has described her upcoming film Psychologyslated for release on Eid ul Adha, as a world-class production capable of rivaling Bollywood and Hollywood films, News reported Saturday.
She expressed confidence that the film would gross over Rs 500 crore and set new popularity records across the world.
Meera also said that if there was a sequel, Psycho 2is made, it will be shot in Karachi. Speaking about her role, she said she became so immersed in the character that she began to feel like the world’s “biggest psychopath”.
She described the role as extremely difficult, saying it also affected her mentally.
Meera made the remarks at a press conference in Karachi organized as part of the film’s promotional campaign, and in a conversation with PK Press Club TV. Lead actor Mustafa Qureshi was also present.

Meera added that although Pakistan produces relatively few quality films, Psychology will elevate the country’s film industry to the international level. She added that she always strives to deliver better performance and also provides learning opportunities to newcomers.
She also revealed that the film was directed by Shan Shahid, calling working under his direction a unique experience.
Meera said that she worked extremely hard for the role and even suffered mental stress and depression due to its intensity, adding that acting was not an easy profession and required complete dedication and passion.
She said, Psychology is not just a film but a symbol of Pakistan’s pride, dignity and identity. According to her, the film has the potential to rival Indian and Hollywood productions in terms of quality, and it will make Pakistani audiences proud.
Lead actor Mustafa Qureshi also said at the event that if a film can be made on Phool Devi in India, we can also make a film about Paki. He added that the extensive media coverage given to Paki’s arrest for hours was inappropriate, while some important issues are not receiving the same attention.
He further said that producers from Punjab are often funded for political reasons for their film projects. The press conference also honored the lead actor for his contributions to the industry.
