Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,
received bad news from Britain ahead of their highly anticipated visit to the country this summer.
The Sussexes have fallen in royal opinion polls, despite their apparently successful visit to Australia this month.
Meghan and Harry’s popularity in the UK has reached an all-time high. New YouGov data clearly highlights the shift in audiences.
Once considered the ultimate power couple, the Sussexes have seen their public reputation plummet in recent years.
Meghan’s numbers dropped the most. Her reputation is increasingly called into question, but outwardly she remains all smiles, carrying on with her life as usual.
Interestingly, Harry is listed at 14th place, while his wife Meghan ranks higher than him at 12th place.
According to the latest YouGov poll, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, takes first place, followed by her husband, Prince William, heir to the throne.
In third place is Princess Anne, who is often considered the hardest-working royal. In fourth place comes King Charles’ brother, Prince Edward.
King Charles also saw his popularity decline. He is now the fifth most popular royal with 47 percent, dropping one place.
His younger brother, Prince Edward, edged him into fourth place with a popularity rating of 50 percent.
The Duke of Edinburgh, along with his wife Sophie, who is sixth on the list, has built a strong reputation as a trustworthy and reliable royal.
Beyond the top five, Zara Tindall and Queen Camilla occupy seventh and eighth places.
The Duke and Duchess of Kent are also in attendance, although the latter died aged 92 last year. Topping the list is Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, with just 11 per cent.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, meanwhile, is holding on to one position on the list, appearing at number 20.
