Meghan Markle has become a talking point again after refusing to be called a duchess on a TV show.
On Sunday, the Duchess of Sussex’s pre-recorded episode of MasterChef Australia aired. Dressed in an all-black outfit, she was the “mystery guest judge.”
One of the judges, Poh Ling Yeow, surprised the contestants by inviting the former Suits actress to join them. She asked Meghan: “Welcome. Should I call you duchess?”
But Prince Harry’s wife simply said: “Oh, call me Meghan. Absolutely, yeah.”
Meghan, who previously on her Netflix show insisted on being called a duchess, sparked reactions with her U-turn.
Fans react to the new controversy. One wrote on social media: “I’m glad she reminded us she’s a duchess.” Another wrote: “This is surprising.”
“Wait, doesn’t she want to be called royalty? Make up your mind,” another wrote.
The other big moment of the show was the unexpected appearance of Prince Harry via video call. He said hello to everyone on set.
