World gained momentum before the match after the devastating loss of his brother. She defeated Skye Blue and Athena to qualify for the match against Moné. But her Cinderella run came to an abrupt end at the hands of Moné.

The fans seemed to be behind Moné as she mocked Le Monde at the start of the match. However, both men put on a great performance in front of the crowd in San Jose, California.

World does everything he can: complicated pinning combinations, elaborate, impactful moves, and even kicking out Moné’s most difficult slams. By the end of the match, the crowd was divided on who they were supporting in the match. Moné was trying not to be surprised by some of World’s maneuvers. At one point, World hit Moné with a sunset flip powerbomb to the floor and a springboard moonsault.

However, the “CEO” would not stay behind.

Moné kicked out from a pinfall attempt. Moné hit a backstabber into a cross face. She made World give up.

This is the first time an AEW wrestler has won the Owen Cup twice. She did it several years in a row. Last year, she came up short against Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
