At least 4,111 individuals were expelled from Punjab, including Lahore, as part of a coordinated effort by local authorities to combat illegal immigration.

A Punjab police spokesman reported that more than 5,950 illegal immigrants had been transferred to detention centers, while 1,839 remain in these facilities. Currently, 46 relaxation centers are established throughout the province, including five located in Lahore.

Inspector General of the Punjab police, Dr. Usman Anwar, stressed that all illegal immigrants will be returned without exception.

He said that security measures are strengthened during the evacuation process and that human rights are strictly observed throughout the operation.

Dr. Usman Anwar managed the city’s chief police (CCPO) of Lahore, regional police (RPOs) and district police (DPO) to accelerate the evacuation process of illegal immigrants.

He also underlined the importance of the mapping, digitization and screening of these people according to the procedures established to ensure a systematic approach to the operation.

This repression of illegal immigration reflects the provincial government’s commitment to maintain public order while ensuring the protection of human rights when applying these measures.
