Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf on Wednesday called for a reassessment of traditional warfare concepts to keep pace with the evolving nature of modern conflicts, emphasizing the importance of technological advancement and strategic adaptability to meet emerging maritime security challenges.
The Navy Chief said this while addressing the participants of the 55th Pakistan Naval Staff Course during his visit to the Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Highlighting emerging trends in warfare, the Navy chief recognized the importance of a technologically competent and intellectually competent military workforce.
Highlighting the “evolutionary nature” of modern conflicts and emerging maritime security challenges, he stressed the importance of “adaptive strategies” to effectively deal with conventional and unconventional threats.
Speaking on the occasion, Admiral Ashraf also reaffirmed Pakistan Navy’s commitment to innovation and indigenization. He also checked unity between factions of the armed forces.
He urged course participants to strengthen their strategic understanding and operational foresight to meet future security challenges.
“The Indian Ocean region remains fluid and contested,” the maritime chief stressed, highlighting changing geopolitical dynamics and power rivalries impacting the regional security environment.
In his concluding remarks, Admiral Ashraf congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the PN Staff Course and advised them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, analytical rigor and innovation in their future missions.
