The leadership ordered party members to intensify the campaign by launching a massive door-to-door awareness campaign.
MUZAFFARABAD:
The PML-N central leadership on Friday held a key consultative meeting with party leaders to review arrangements for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to AJK and preparations for the party’s election campaign.
The meeting decided that Nawaz, who is also PML-N president, would address two major public rallies in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur during his visit to the region. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is also expected to accompany him at both the rallies.
Participants reviewed the party’s electoral campaign, organizational coordination, rallies and its overall electoral strategy.
The leadership has asked party members to intensify the campaign by launching a massive door-to-door awareness campaign and mobilizing supporters across the region ahead of the elections.
Addressing the meeting, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam said the PML-N would wage a vigorous election campaign in AJK, adding that resolving public issues and ensuring development and prosperity of the region remained the party’s top priorities.
He said the PML-N government had carried out several major development projects in AJK and noted that the Prime Minister had announced the establishment of Daanish schools in the territory without any formal request from the AJK government.
Muqam stressed the importance of holding free and transparent elections in a timely manner, describing them as the most effective way to resolve the people’s problems. He said the PML-N leadership had a long-standing commitment to the people of Kashmir and had always stood by them in difficult times.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed confidence that the party would achieve victory in the AJK general elections on July 27, 2026 thanks to its record in public service, development agenda and governance performance.
The meeting was attended by Advisor to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, Muqam, PML-N AJK President Ghulam Qadir, Raja Farooq Haider, Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar and other leaders.
