The Court granted the NCCIA one final opportunity to file a detailed response before the next hearing
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restrained the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) from obstructing the official functions of contractual officers who approached the court seeking regularization of their services.
The court also upheld its interim order prohibiting the NCCIA from taking disciplinary action against the petitioners and granted the agency a final opportunity to submit a detailed response, in paragraphs, by July 30.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the petition filed by the contractual employees of the NCCIA seeking regularization of their services. Advocates Haroon Rashid, Manzoor Ahmed Jajja and others appeared on behalf of the petitioners.
During the hearing, NCCIA requested additional time to file its response.
The petitioners’ attorneys opposed the request, arguing that since the first hearing on February 13, the NCCIA had been given several opportunities to submit a response, but had requested an adjournment at each hearing.
The court granted NCCIA one final opportunity to file a detailed response before the next hearing.
He ordered that if the NCCIA failed to submit a response, the matter would be decided on the basis of the available record.
