Nic Nemeth wins the TNA World Championship at Slammiversary and defeats Mike Santana

Nic Nemeth called his shot and challenged Mike Santana for the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) World Championship at Slammiversary on Sunday – and he didn’t miss.

It was a classic main event between the two talented wrestlers. Nemeth entered the match looking to eliminate Santana, who had been champion for almost a year. Nemeth had his brother by his side to help him play some mind games during the match.

Ryan Nemeth distracted the referee and got himself sent off almost instantly. It was just enough time for Nic Nemeth to topple Santana with the Call Your Shot Gauntlet trophy. Santana was bleeding from the head after the slap.

Nemeth hit Santana with a superkick but Santana countered with Spin the Block. The pin was useless. Nemeth then connected with a few superkicks and a Danger Zone but couldn’t hold off Santana.

But Santana would run out of steam. After eliminating Nemeth’s last suit, he fell into Nemeth’s arms. Nemeth hit another danger zone and pinned Santana for the win.

This is Nemeth’s second TNA World Championship reign. His first title reign began at Slammiversary 2024 when he defeated Moose, Josh Alexander, Steve Maclin, Frankie Kazarian and Joe Hendry. Two years later, he returned to the head of TNA.

Now, Nemeth is at the top of the list as champion. He’ll likely get a rematch request from Santana with Lockdown in a few weeks.
