May 4th is, of course, “May the Fourth/Force be with you” day, but “forest” seems to be taking the pun a little too far, unless we’re talking about the forest moon of Endor, Takodana, which is clearly not the case.
Rather, it was a search for trees found in woods and forests, made more complex by a few tricky twists and turns to connect the letters.
The longest word in the game, EUCALYPTUS, was my final discovery – it wasn’t the most obvious tree, so I’ll forgive myself for not seeing it sooner.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Sunday May 3, match #791)
- WEIRD
- PARTICULAR
- ODD
- UNUSUAL
- WEIRD
- ECCENTRIC
- SPANGRAM: IT’S VERY GOOD
