NYT Strands today (game #779) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #779, are…
- BOLD
- INTREPID
- GUTSY
- BRAVE
- ADVENTUROUS
- SPANGRAM: THE DAREDEVILS
- My rating: Hard
- My rating: 1 clue
Initially, I briefly considered, then ruled out, the possibility that today’s search was for Tom Cruise movies… Then I found BOLD and deduced that we were searching for words associated with people for whom the risks are occupational hazards.
It was with this in mind that I went looking for “stuntman”, but I managed to find DAREDEVILS, a word that sums up people in this profession well. After a series of long spangrams, today we returned to a relatively short spangram, and in which there was a game word (ADVENTUROUS) which was longer.
It’s hard to imagine a less daring pursuit than Strands’ – unless of course you completed today’s puzzle while hanging upside down from a trapeze suspended over a ravine. And if you did, I applaud you.
