NYT Strands today (game #787) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #787, are…
- HOOK
- COIL
- LURE
- WEIGHT
- PIVOT
- PLIERS
- COOLER
- BOBBER
- SPANGRAM: ATTACK
- My rating: Hard
- My rating: 1 clue
Today’s theme didn’t leave much room for guesswork since it obviously involved angling.
The speed at which you attacked this game then depended on the number of words you knew related to the world of fishing and since I knew almost none, it was limited to the obvious ones of HOOK, REEL and the spangram TACKLE.
After a clue gave me the fourth word, the one I really should have known in LURE, I moved through the board at a pace similar to a day spent by the river dozing and waiting for a catch.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Tuesday April 28, match #786)
- WATCH
- SEE
- OBSERVE
- WITNESS
- MONITOR
- EYE BALL
- SPANGRAM: LIKE AHAWK
