- Nvidia Claims OpenAI Codex Deployment Delivers 50x Increase in Token Production
- Offers 35x cost reduction over GPT-4o
- 10,000 NVIDIA employees now leverage Codex in HR, Legal, Engineering and more.
OpenAI deployed its Codex model powered by GPT5.5 on Nvidia as part of a native AI enterprise deployment.
The model is now available to more than 10,000 Nvidia employees and has reportedly resulted in a 35x reduction in costs and a 50x increase in token production per megawatt compared to GPT-4o.
The Codex has already delivered “mind-blowing” and “life-changing” results, according to Nvidia employees.

“Viable frontier model inference at enterprise scale”
The model was deployed on Nvidia’s GB200 NVL72 rack-scale systems, and is what made huge savings in cost and token production possible, according to Nvidia.
Nvidia-Codex adoption goes beyond the typical AI deployments that most companies have seen. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, said: “Chatbots answer questions. Agents work.”
Codex’s original function was to help GitHub users as a Copilot-style coding assistant, but it can now function as an agent assistant capable of performing tasks in non-technical departments such as product, legal, marketing, finance, sales, HR, and operations.
We tried a new solution with NVIDIA to deploy Codex across an entire enterprise and it was great to see it work. Let us know if you want to do this in your business! pic.twitter.com/Xjn6ShrRuqApril 23, 2026
An email from Jensen Huang, shared by Sam Altman on [that] will use the Codex to accelerate and do work never before possible. Please pass on my congratulations to your team for once again showing the world the border. And thank them again for inventing GPT which gave us the springboard for reasoning, planning, using tools and beyond.
The deployment of Codex on Nvidia systems comes as OpenAI’s rivalry with companies like Anthropic reaches new heights, especially as Anthropic’s Claude Mythos attracts widespread attention.
While both models have broad and potentially game-changing applications, Anthropic’s Mythos focuses on patching zero-day vulnerabilities at scale (as demonstrated by Firefox), while OpenAI’s GPT-5.5 Codex can manage real-world enterprise data in a secure cloud sandbox, allowing employees to go beyond chatbots and interact with an AI agent capable of securely automating entire workflows.
