Pakistan tests indigenously developed Fateh-II missile system: ISPR

The Army Rocket Forces Command on Tuesday successfully conducted a training launch of the “indigenously developed” Fateh-II missile system, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

He said the system was equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigation aids.

According to the ISPR, “the training launch was aimed at training the troops, validating various technical parameters and evaluating the performance of various incorporated subsystems for improved accuracy and increased survivability.”

“The launch was witnessed by senior officers of the Strategic Plans Division, Army Rocket Forces Command and Pakistan Army, as well as scientists and engineers from strategic organizations. The forum lauded the successful training firings of the indigenously developed Fateh series of missiles,” the statement said.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defense Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and service chiefs “appreciated the technical prowess, dedication and commitment of all those who contributed to the success of the missile training firing”, the ISPR concluded.

Last week, the Pakistan Navy successfully conducted a test of the Taimoor air-launched cruise missile. The missile, which is an indigenously developed anti-ship weapon system, is described as “a powerful demonstration of precision strike capability and operational readiness.”

This is the second test conducted by the Pakistan Navy as earlier on April 16, the Pakistan Navy also successfully conducted a live firing of an indigenously developed anti-ship missile.
