Spain wins the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Spain’s thrilling FIFA World Cup victory over Argentina in extra time was marred by a post-match brawl involving Leandro Paredes and Eric García.
The aggressive tackling and liveliness of the Argentine team led to a confrontation between the two teams. Paredes was seen coming to witness a post-match brawl between players from both nations and putting his hand on García’s throat.

Paredes received a red card after the whistle and was sent off. He also received a yellow card during the match for a violent tackle shortly after entering the match.
Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni was held down by a Spanish player while shouting at someone. Nicolas Otamendi exchanged words with several Spanish players, including Rodri.
“We are gracious in victory, and we must be gracious in defeat,” Scaloni said via ESPN. “We accept the loss; we gave everything. We were at the end of our rope before this, but giving everything, as they did today, sets a great example for our people and our country.

“You lose and you have to get back up.”
BBC’s Joe Hart ripped Argentina over the brawl.
“There was one man on the pitch who had class and that was Lionel Messi, who shook hands with every one of those Spanish players,” he said via Goal.com. “The game is over. They had absolutely no complaints about what happened today. Disgusting behavior.”
