New app will be introduced to allow citizens to submit complaints and queries online
ISLAMABAD:
The Directorate of Passports and Immigration has completed a comprehensive review of passport application processing, from submission to issuance, in consultation with IT experts, as part of efforts to modernize the system in line with contemporary requirements.
The review work was finalized ahead of the announcement of an upgrade to the passport and immigration processing framework, with a focus on efficiency, transparency and faster delivery of public services.
The decision was taken at an important meeting chaired by Director General of Immigration and Passports, MuhammadAli Randhawa, during which key reforms aimed at digital transformation were approved.
It was agreed at the meeting that digital complaints centers would be established to ensure rapid resolution of public grievances, alongside wider efforts to digitize the immigration and passport system.
As part of the planned reforms, a new application will be introduced to allow citizens to submit complaints and queries online, enabling faster response times and reducing the reliance on manual processes. The initiative aims to improve accessibility and convenience for candidates through technological solutions.
Speaking on the occasion, DG Passport said the department is committed to providing better facilities to the public through modern technology, adding that work is underway to accelerate 24-hour active digital service projects.
