AI-powered PMOS aims to digitize governance and improve implementation of Prime Minister’s directives

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday launched the artificial intelligence (AI)-based Prime Minister’s Office System (PMOS), describing it as a digital platform designed to modernize governance by tracking and monitoring the implementation of directives issued by the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister’s Office posted on X.
Addressing the launch ceremony at the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz directed all relevant authorities to ensure immediate and comprehensive implementation of the AI-based system, saying traditional paper-based workflows would be replaced by digital processes.
“From today, I will no longer wait for any of you with a file in your hands. Everything will be discussed through this mechanism,” the Prime Minister said, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. He also commended IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Secretary Ministry of Information Technology for their efforts in developing and implementing the platform.
The Prime Minister urged all government ministries and departments to adopt the system, saying it would improve governance and public service delivery. “It would make it easier to deliver services,” he said.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister received a comprehensive briefing on the AI-based platform and its objectives during the ceremony.

The officials informed the meeting that PMOS is the first government platform in Pakistan to integrate artificial intelligence as a core element of decision-making and implementation monitoring, making it a key initiative in the digital transformation of the federal government, the PMO said.
According to the briefing, the platform was developed at the center of government to ensure effective communication of the Prime Minister’s directives between ministries and departments while enabling their timely implementation in accordance with defined quality standards.
The PMO said the system also serves as a secure, technology-driven decision support platform by integrating analytics and structured information into a protected IT environment.
Officials further said the PMOS would enable continuous policy calibration by helping the government use technological, human and financial resources more effectively to improve economic outcomes.
According to the statement, the government plans to integrate governance reforms within the Prime Minister’s Office before extending the platform to the entire federal administrative structure.
At the heart of PMOS is a comprehensive digital repository that records every directive issued by the Prime Minister along with its complete implementation journey, making the platform both an institutional knowledge base and a permanent record of government decision-making, it adds.
