Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to initiate a public contact campaign aimed at strengthening and restructuring the party in Punjab, according to the provincial party president Rana Sanaullah.

Addressing journalists outside Jati Umra on Tuesday, Sanaullah said that the campaign was specifically launched to Punjab and would later be examined by Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz party leaders.

“I will direct this campaign myself and I will present the whole situation before Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz after the end,” he said.

“For the moment, this campaign is limited to Punjab. When Nawaz Sharif visits other provinces, public rallies will also be organized,” he added.

On the question of the imprisonment of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), Sanaullah said that there was no indication that American visiting doctors had made a request or an official discussion on his release.

“They probably only came to find out about his health,” he said.

Responding to concerns about political discourse on social networks, Sanaullah said everyone had the right to express their opinion.

“Everyone has the right to express themselves on social networks, but PTI’s abusive brigade is a problem for everyone,” he said.

Sanaullah also criticized Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, saying that he should have represented his province at yesterday’s event.

“If the chief minister does not represent his province during key forums, he neglects his constitutional responsibilities,” he said.

The PML-N leader called for the end of fabricated political cases, urging all political parties to initiate constructive dialogue.

“This is something we have recommended since 2018, and we always say it today-political parties should solve problems through negotiations,” he said.

“Everyone knows who does not want to come to the table,” he added, without naming a particular part.

Responding to the allegations of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) party on the distribution of water, Sanaullah firmly denied that the Punjab was flying water in the Sindh.

“Punjab does not steal a single drop of water from the Sindh, nor the intention of doing so,” he said.

He suggested that the so-called nationalist parties of the Sindh had created a polarized environment, leaving the PPP without any choice than to protest.

“We have reassured Bilawal Bhutto and the PPP that any water-related dispute will be resolved by dialogue and understanding,” he said. “Punjab does not intend to take what belongs to the Sindh.”

On the question of Imran Khan’s political future, Sanaullah reiterated that discussions with the establishment would not solve the crisis

“The founder of the PTI was still ready to speak to the establishment, but the problem will not be solved in this way,” he said.

“He must be willing to initiate a dialogue with political parties if a resolution must be reached,” he added.
