Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet reunited with their grandfather, King Charles, for the first time in four years.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that the “private family event” took place on Friday (July 10) at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, where the King and Queen Camilla hosted Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their two children.
The long-awaited reunion took place behind closed doors, with palace officials making it clear that no photographs would be released and no further details would be shared.
The meeting marks Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, seeing King Charles, 77, in person for the first time since 2022, when they visited the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee celebrations but did not attend any public events.
Harry, 41, had returned to Britain earlier this week for a series of charity engagements, including the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games in Birmingham.
Meghan, 44, and the children were initially due to accompany him, but uncertainty over security arrangements threw those plans into doubt.
Friday’s private meeting finally made the reunion possible, allowing the Sussex children to spend time with their grandfather, away from public attention.
