Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a surprise move in search of peace, reportedly enjoying a European vacation with Archie and Lilibet as their UK visit hangs in the balance.
The California-based couple would prefer to take their children to Europe ahead of Harry’s planned trip to the UK in July.
The move has fueled speculation about the UK tour, with reports suggesting they are reconsidering their plans to travel to Britain with the prince and princess.
The Sussexes were due to spend five days in Britain, with the Duke and Duchess leading several engagements related to Harry’s Invictus Games.
The latest report comes a day after King Charles made an emotional speech at the official opening of the seventh session of the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh, paying tribute to local heroes.
Earlier, several media outlets and some royal commentators on social media had reported that the former royals and their children would reunite with the royal family after being offered the royal residence from the palace.
However, as no formal decision has been made regarding Harry’s security measures, the Duke is now unsure whether to include his children.
The telegraph reported that while Meghan, Archie and Lilibet might not join their father for the entire trip, they could fly in and out of the UK in a single day.
He added that their visit would likely see them reunited with their grandfather, King Charles. It was also reported that the Duke of Sussex hoped to take his children to visit the grave of their late grandmother, Princess Diana.
The Duke of Sussex will begin his trip with an Invictus Games Foundation event at Chatham House, which will bring together experts, policy makers and members of the Invictus community to discuss issues affecting injured and ill military personnel and veterans.
