Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of using King Charles’ “soft side” to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with their security demands.
The Sussexes’ return has become a topic of conversation around town due to confusing reports. Some said their mid-July arrival was confirmed, others said Harry was again considering bringing his wife and children to his homeland for security reasons.
The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex emotionally blackmailed the monarch into overturning the taxpayer-funded police protection order, which was refused.
He shared: “To me, frankly, it seems a bit of a trap. So let’s be clear about what’s going on. Harry and Megan are saying, ‘We will stay in a royal residence, but only if every time we leave with our children we are guaranteed safety.'”
“So the last time Harry was here, last September, for example, he had police protection when he was doing an engagement. On this occasion they have a lot of different things to do, but they say if it’s not guaranteed we’re not going to stay with you,” the royal commentator explained.
Richard said it looked like a “trap” set for the king, which could have created chaos inside the palace. He added: “So there’s a lot of manipulation going on, and it’s all quite unedifying. »
Additionally, Harry and Meghan faced criticism for using their children to gain security during their trip to the United Kingdom.
He said: “I’ve heard that they still haven’t had the assurances that they want in terms of security. So it’s not clear whether they will bring their children or not. So it genuinely seems like they are using the children, you know, sort of to put pressure on the king.”
