The royal family may be on edge over the implications of Prince Harry’s visit to the UK, amid speculation and warnings.
However, the Duke of Sussex is probably all too aware that his relationship with his family is at stake.
He knows that one misstep could inevitably spell the end of any hope that he and Meghan Markle would ever be welcome into the royal fold.
According to a new claim, Harry has carefully made a list of people he’d like to see, and there’s one royal who, we’re told, hasn’t been able to make the cut for a long time.
Although they have previously shown their support for Meghan Markle, describing her as “modern and fabulous”, the Sussexes know that any association with Sarah Ferguson would be a huge “risk” that he is not prepared to take at such a delicate moment.
The insider said Closer“Sarah was one of the few people in the family to publicly support them time and time again, so it’s understandable that she would want Harry to reciprocate. But that’s just never going to happen.”
They went on to explain: “The fact is, Sarah can’t do anything to help Meghan right now, so why would she show her any support when it would only hurt her brand? She just can’t take a chance.”
Likewise, the source claims that Harry finds the allegations that have emerged regarding Sarah’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein “reprehensible.”
He has never spoken about her publicly, but referred to his uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in his 2023 memoir, Sparewriting: “Despite being embroiled in an embarrassing scandal, accused of sexually abusing a young woman, no one had suggested removing his security.
The source now adds: “He and Meghan have been as gentle as possible about it, but they have made it clear to Beatrice and Eugenie that they don’t want to hear any more about their mother.”
The insiders went on to claim: “Sarah has been sending messages through Eugenie and Beatrice for some time, trying to reduce Harry’s resistance because she would very much like to see him and Meghan again.”
“She swears it’s not to gain their sympathy, she insists it’s for their benefit. They’ve been treated terribly by the royal family and so has she, and in her opinion they would do well to form an alliance, or at the very least establish a friendship since they’re in this together.”
