Prince William makes bold choice as he splits from King Charles’ plan

Prince William, who has been vocal about change in his reign, began taking significant steps even before ascending the throne.

The Prince of Wales, who inherited the Duchy of Cornwall from King Charles after succeeding to the crown, plans to sell around 20% of his estate.

According to The timesWilliam decided to reinvest the money in projects related to housing and nature.

In the next 10 years, the future monarch could sell a fifth of the land to make a positive impact through meaningful initiatives, benefiting not only him and his family, but also the public.

For those who don’t know, it has been reported that the income generated from the estate supports Prince William and Wales’ official duties, as well as their private and charitable work.

Will Bax, chief executive of the duchy, revealed that Prince William had a vision to “unlock around 10,000 to 12,000 homes by 2040”.

This work would take place in the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall, Dartmoor, the Bath area, Kennington and south London.

With this decision, the Prince of Wales intends to support local communities and the environmental issues that he is passionate about.

Bax said, “If we don’t see an opportunity for positive impact, then maybe we don’t need to be a part of this place.” »

“But where there is a social need, where there is an environmental challenge and where there is an opportunity to enable change, then we will be a great partner to work with people to achieve that,” added a member of William’s team.

Prince William is setting a unique example for the royal family by breaking away from plans made by former royals, including his father, King Charles.
