Prince William appears to be making drastic improvements to his plans after King Charles took a bold step in favor of the monarchy.
Buckingham Palace is undergoing a renovation program which is due to be completed next year. It was initially thought that the monarch would leave Clarence House for the palace once the renovations were completed.
Meanwhile, the Prince and the Prince of Wales had indicated that their new home in Windsor, Forest Lodge, should be their “forever home”, even after William takes the throne. It has now been revealed that King will stay at Clarence House while the palace is treated as the center of official activities – a major break in tradition.
William is said to have been the first to implement this change, but Charles appears to have taken the lead in the matter. Rumors indicate a permanent competition between the king and his heir for the management of the monarchy. Sources shared that now that Charles has essentially broken royal tradition, he will go even further with shocking plans.
In a latest report from Rob Shuter, it was revealed that William is going to transform Buckingham Palace into a luxury hotel. “William doesn’t see this as an either/or choice,” a palace source said. “The palace can accommodate kings, presidents and diplomats, while accommodating paying guests and museum visitors at the same time.”
The future king believes people would come “from all four corners of the world” to experience the historic building and the revenue would preserve it for future generations.
“He’s not sentimental about the building,” another source said. “He is sentimental about the monarchy. If turning part of Buckingham Palace into a museum and luxury hotel helps secure the future of the institution, he will do it.”
