Rockstar Confirms Major Third-Party Data Breach: GTA VI Maker Says ‘No Impact to Our Organization or Players’

  • ShinyHunters says it exploited Anodot breach to hit Rockstar Games
  • Group demands ransom by April 14, 2026 or disclose stolen files
  • Rockstar confirms access to non-hardware data is limited, with no impact on players

Rockstar Games is the latest victim to have its data stolen in the Anodot supply chain attack carried out by cybercrime gang ShinyHunters against “dozens of companies”.

ShinyHunters is giving Rockstar until April 14 to pay the ransom demand, otherwise they will publish the stolen files on the dark web. However, if you were hoping that scammers would release the source code or a demo version of the game, that probably won’t happen.
