Sadie Sink Reveals Something Shocking About ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

Sadie Sink revealed she was not given a script for her mystery role in Spider-Man: A Whole New Day until she has already landed in London, and she keeps all the details of what happens next firmly to herself.

THE Stranger Things The actress joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe when the film releases on July 31, but her role has been so kept under wraps that she hasn’t appeared in any trailers or marketing, despite being one of the most recognizable faces of her generation.

Internet speculation is largely based on the theory that she would play a young Jean Grey, potentially creating a new generation of characters. X-Men within the MCU, but Sink, 22, is not playing the game.

“You just don’t share the secret, it’s not that hard,” she told Nylon in a new cover story.

The secrecy extended even to the early stages of his involvement.

She was offered the role without an audition, as director Destin Daniel Cretton had worked with her on the 2017 film. The Glass Castle, and only received the script once she had already landed in London to begin filming.

Even though I entered into the enormity of Spiderman franchise as an outsider, Sink said his co-star Tom Holland made the experience much less intimidating than it could have been.

“It was interesting to come into this space and be a little foreign in that way, but he couldn’t have been more welcoming, and the whole crew in general. He was so relaxed and open, and I felt very comfortable.”

She was upfront about the scale of what she signed up for.

“I knew Marvel was a big deal and had a big brand, especially Spiderman. I know there’s a huge fan base, but it seems really huge. I think these blockbuster movies are a whole different beast.”

Spider-Man: A Whole New Day stars Holland alongside returning actors Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, with Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal also appearing as Hulk and Punisher, respectively.

Whoever Sink is, audiences will find out on July 31.
