Eight terrorists killed in Mohmand; five dead after intense exchanges of fire in North Waziristan
Security forces killed 13 terrorists while foiling two separate infiltration attempts along the Pakistan-Afghan border in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, army media said on Thursday.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the incidents took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, when terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) attempted to enter Pakistan.
According to ISPR, security forces detected the movement of a group trying to infiltrate through the border into Mohmand district.
“Our own troops effectively engaged this group of khwarij. Through precise and skillful engagement, eight khwarij belonging to Indian-sponsored groups Fitna al-Khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.

The ISPR said another infiltration attempt was foiled in North Waziristan district, where security forces engaged a group of terrorists in an intense exchange of fire, neutralizing five of them.
The statement said these commitments once again underline Pakistan’s position regarding the failure of the Afghan Taliban regime to ensure effective border management on its side.
“The Afghan Taliban regime must fulfill its obligations and refuse the use of Afghan soil in khwarij and prevent the involvement of its citizens in terrorism inside Pakistan,” the ISPR said.
He adds that security forces remain resolute in their commitment to defending the country’s borders.
According to the ISPR, disinfection operations were underway to eliminate any further terrorists in the region, adding that the anti-terrorism campaign under the ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ vision, approved by the federal committee for National Action Plan, would continue in full swing to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised security forces for foiling infiltration attempts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Tensions between the two countries have intensified in recent months amid mutual accusations over cross-border activism. Islamabad has long maintained that TTP-linked terrorists operate from Afghan territory, while Kabul has denied the allegations and accused Pakistan of violating its sovereignty through alleged strikes.
In February this year, Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab Lil Haq following renewed clashes along the border, after Afghan Taliban forces fired on several locations, prompting a rapid military response.
A five-day break in hostilities was observed from March 18 to 23 on the occasion of Eidul Fitr. However, the government later resumed the operation, with the Foreign Office saying it would continue “until its objectives are achieved”.
