Imagine being asked to record vocals for Beyoncé, only to find out that you actually made the final cut at the exact same time as the rest of the world.
That’s precisely what happened to singer-songwriter Shaboozey, who revealed he didn’t know his collaborations with Queen Bey might have appeared on her breakthrough country album, Cowboy Carteruntil she shared the official tracklist online.
The 31-year-old artist, real name Collins Chibueze, had recorded verses for the project but chose not to get his hopes up, making the final reveal a huge surprise.
When the album was released in 2024, Shaboozey was delighted to discover that it was featured on two major tracks, spaghetti And Sweet Honey Buckin’.
What blew him away even more was that Beyoncé didn’t change anything from what he had planned in the studio, leaving every ad-lib completely intact.
He admits that the experience was incredibly motivating, explaining that co-signing it gave him a huge confidence boost to pursue his music career as quickly as he could.
Working with the global icon was a true pinch-me moment for the musician, who grew up viewing her as a massive pillar of modern culture.
He has since credited the Crazy in love singer by teaching him valuable lessons about work ethic and staying inspired as a creative.
With this major endorsement under his belt, Shaboozey is now gearing up to share his own new music.
He released a concept album titled The Outlaw Cherie Lee and Other Western Tales on July 31.
