Spanish goalkeeper Borja Iglesias will play the biggest match of his career: the World Cup final against Argentina on Sunday afternoon at New York/New Jersey Stadium.
If Spain wins, Iglesias will be one of the players to shake President Donald Trump’s hand after the match. However, Iglesias is not a fan of the president and made this clear on Saturday during his interview with Spanish media.

“I don’t want to go to jail,” he said while shaking Trump’s hand, via All Out Soccer. “I hope to greet him at a time when we will all be very happy, and it will pass very quickly and I can forget him.
“I don’t think this is the time to create controversy. People know very well what I think. There are a lot of things I would like to do, but the reality is that even though people think I’m all-powerful, I don’t have a lot of power to address certain things.”

Iglesias has previously expressed support for pro-Palestinian protesters and has been outspoken against the former boss of the Spanish football federation who left his post after kissing a player after the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
He said he thought Trump was “struggling” with people who are fighting “for progress and for basic values.”
Trump is expected to attend the World Cup final. He participated in the presentation of the FIFA Club World Cup trophies. He remained on stage for the celebration ceremony.
