Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, once again confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6‘s release date, so it looks like fans shouldn’t worry about further delays.
Speaking in a street interview with popular TikTok account The School of Hard Knocks (via GameSpot), Zelnick was asked about his business before addressing GTA6.
When asked when the highly anticipated game would be released, the CEO reiterated that GTA6 will be launched on November 19 this year. But why is it taking so long to come out, 13 years later? GTA 5 to be exact?
According to Zelnick, “The team at Rockstar is really looking to do something that’s never been done before. It’s really difficult and it takes a lot of time.”
The CEO added that Take-Two generated $6.7 billion in revenue last year alone, and this year it is expected to reach $8 billion, likely due to GTA6and its sales estimated at 25 million copies on the first day.
He then gave some advice to businesses, saying people should “never compromise your integrity.” It’s the only thing you have,” and that they must keep their word “without a doubt.”
“I am flawed. There was a time when I acted in a way that was not consistent with my views on integrity in business. It hurt me a lot and I learned an important lesson. Never do that,” Zelnick said.
He added: “I think everyone is looking for an overnight success. My experience is that the only overnight successes are someone else’s. Anything worth doing is difficult and takes a lot of time,” before giving some career advice.
“People should look for the intersection between what they are good at and what they love to do with an emphasis on what you are good at,” he said. “Do this thing and the world will probably open up to you.”
Despite meeting the game’s release date after a six-month delay, Zelnick recently suggested that GTA 6 is more than a year late.
He also said that marketing for the game will start soon, which could mean that the long-awaited third trailer could finally be released this summer.
