Taylor Swift’s wedding dress designer breaks silence after big day

Taylor Swift’s wedding dress is still under wraps, but the man who designed it has finally shared what the experience meant to him.

Fresh off one of fashion’s busiest weeks, Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson reflected on the design of the custom Christian Dior Haute Couture gown that Swift wore when she married Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden on July 3.

For Anderson, the project became much more personal than just creating another couture look.

“She was a joy to work with. We became very good friends,” he told WWD. “It’s an emotional thing to attend someone’s wedding.”

Swift’s rep previously confirmed that the two newlyweds wore a custom Dior Haute Couture gown designed by Anderson “in close collaboration with the bride and groom,” adding, “This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity.”

The bridal look was completed with custom Christian Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewelry, while Dior revealed the designs were handmade in the fashion house’s legendary Parisian workshops.

Anderson’s comments came just as Dior unveiled its Fall/Winter 2026-2027 Haute Couture collection in Paris, sparking even more curiosity about Swift’s as-yet-unreleased dress.

The wedding itself was just as spectacular as the fashion. Madison Square Garden has been transformed into a lush secret garden filled with towering trees, roses and greenery.

“The whole evening was very guest-centric,” a source said. “There was always something to do, see or play. We never got bored.”

Another source added: “A huge smile never left their faces.”

From a handmade couture gown to a fairytale venue, Swift and Kelce’s wedding was not only one of the biggest celebrity events of the year, it also became one of the most talked about moments in the fashion world.
