The Federal Minister of the Interior of Pakistan, Mohin Naqvi, met Eric Mayer, a senior official of the US State Department, who is currently heading an American delegation during a visit to Pakistan.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed a range of subjects, including the strengthening of American-Pakistani relations, the efforts to combat terrorism and the fields of mutual interest, Express News reported.
Mayer expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for his cooperation in the recent arrest of the terrorist sought, Sharif Allah.
He congratulated the efforts made by the Pakistani authorities to fight terrorism and ensure the security of the two nations.
Mayer also condemned the terrorist attack on the Jaffer Express, expressing sorrow for loss of lives and condolences to affected families.
Reunion has also covered other critical areas of cooperation, including counter-nostrils, terrorism prevention and the fight against smuggling.
Naqvi stressed that the next joint dialogue against terrorism scheduled for June in Islamabad would provide a platform to further strengthen collaboration between the two nations in the fight against terrorism.
Naqvi noted that the fight against terrorism was not only the struggle of Pakistan, but a world struggle. He stressed the importance of continuous international support in Pakistan to solve this problem.
In addition, the Minister of the Interior said that US companies could greatly benefit from investment opportunities in Pakistan, in particular through Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum.
Mayer has also shown its interest in these opportunities, highlighting the potential for American companies to engage more deeply on the growing market in Pakistan.
The meeting also included the United States Ambassador Natalie Baker, the Minister of State in the Interior Talal Chaudhry, and the interior secretary Khurram Agha.
The American delegation arrived in Pakistan to participate in Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025.
