- Reminder entered the last stage of the tests in the previews of Windows 11
- This means that it could soon be published for all Copilot + PCS
- However, the deployment will probably be progressive (as is the case in preview tests at the moment)
Those who wonder where the controversial recall function of Windows 11 was at – the last time lost in tests somewhere – well, it seems that Microsoft is preparing to publish this research feature fueled by Ai very early early.
The rod pointed out that Microsoft expelled a new test version (version 26100.3902) in the version preview channel, and that this is delivered both with the recall and functionality of its partner Click for Do (suggestions of suggestions on AI).
There are four main test channels for Windows 11, and the publication of the preview is the last step before hitting the finished versions of the office operating system – as its name indicates, this is the last step before the release.
In short, it seems that the recall and the click could soon arrive for everyone (which has a co -pilot + PC – Remember, these features of AI need the powerful NPU which is a requirement for these devices).
When the recall arises, it will only be optimized for an initial set of languages. These are: English, Chinese (simplified), French, German, Japanese and Spanish.
For those who have forgotten – although this is unlikely, given the whole controversy that this capacity has caused since its revelation last year – Recall uses AI and screenshots regularly taken from activity on your PC to conduct in -depth research in natural language. (Requests such as: “Find this document where I wrote my packaging list for vacation abroad.”)
Although this certainly promises to be very useful, there have been many confidentiality and security problems concerning the recall, which led Microsoft to take a lot of measures to consolidate these areas. This includes the introduction of the Windows Hello connection to confirm that it is in fact that you are present on the Copilot + PC when using the recall.
Analysis: a pivotal moment for Copilot + PCS
This is an exciting news for those who want to use the recall, of course, and interesting for those of us who do not yet feel attracted by functionality, but who always want to see how it takes place in the real world.
This is the Cornerstone AI function of Microsoft for Copilot + PC, of course, so it will be watched with a lot of eyes. And pushed and pushed by many safety experts and pirates (white hat or other).
Will Microsoft be nervous? Most likely, certainly on the reaction that it will be encountered, and how the recall to the balloon test is really in terms of security, when it launches on a large scale – although we have to hold our horses a little on this forehead.
The recall will probably be labeled as an overview capacity, even when it publishes on Copilot + Copilot + Finis devices. There will also be a limited deployment to start, when the recall will be officially debut. Even at the moment, in the tests, Microsoft said that the deployment was progressive, so not all the testers will see. I suppose that the speed of deployment in the overview of the version will depend on how this last phase of the tests is progressing.
In the foot notes of the blog article for this new version of preview, Microsoft tells us that a reminder will be available in “early 2025 in most markets”, which is a bit strange, because this delay has already sailed in my book. (I would call the first quarter at the start of the year, and of course, we are at T2 now, in April).
However, Microsoft also clarifies that the recall will not come to Europe at the beginning of 2025, and that it “will take place in the European economic zone later this year”. This is probably due to the regulation of data in this region, which has been the cause of a certain number of capacities on ice.
