Despite 51 years in the sport industry representing the cream of the cream of athletes, Leigh Steinberg’s career as an agent and PhilanthropE is far from over.
Steinberg’s approach to athlete management, which includes negotiations for high -level athletes such as 64 NFL first round choices during the first eight years of his career, elite MLB players and Olympic athletes, has been strategic both in Hustle and Heart for decades.
The inspiration for “Jerry Maguire” signs athletes who dream of both reaching the status of the temple of fame and integrating philanthropy into the minds of their faithful base of fans.

“Whether it’s creating a charity in their high school, a similar thing in their colleges, charitable foundations at the professional level where they take a problem that they would like to approach and set up a base,” Steinberg told PK Press Club Digital, “all with the concept of an athlete as a model.”
Steinberg highlighted the NFL superstar and the NFL Patrick Mahomes initiative, 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, as an example of what is possible when elite athletes use their names to raise awareness and fund for a cause.
The Mahomes Foundation, created in 2019, devotes itself to improving the lives of young people at risk and badly served. More recently, the Foundation revealed the expansion of scholarships in infant education and reported in 2024 that young volunteers contributed 2.6 million dollars in hours of service thanks to the organization.

“I was very involved in the restitution of an agent’s responsibility,” said Steinberg. “I think that part is to take care of the health of a player.”
Beyond working with athletes to choose a fundamental orientation, Steinberg clocks time daily as president of the Leigh Steinberg Foundation, which aims to educate and raise information on the risks of sports concussion and to finance the prophylactic treatment of concussion and the healing of the communioned brain.
“In a sport like football, which is a traffic accident in each game and the concussion is a ugly spectrum, I have tried to be proactive over the years,” Steinberg told PK Press Club Digital. “I Had a Crisis of Conscience Back in The 1980s Because I Was Representing Half of the Starting Quarterbacks in the Nfl. They kept Getting Hit in the Head, and we would go to doctors and ask howry is too much? When Should they contemplate? Conference Conferences Back in 1994. “
Since its creation, Steinberg has declared that the foundation had worked with the IQMind and Nestre treatment clinics to identify two new breakthrough technologies, transcranial magnetic stimulation and neurofeedback, which heal a brain communioned by the theory of neuroplasticity.

“We are also trying to provide treatment to poorly served communities that do not necessarily have a way to manage brain health,” said Steinberg. “So we will seek to provide treatment to a number of people who would not have it otherwise.”
In just one week, Steinberg claims that the Foundation has collected $ 500,000, which, in part, will be allocated to organize seminars and spread awareness of parents with children in athletics.
Among the votes behind the announcement of the Foundation’s public service and the educational campaigns are the ancient NFL quarterrier, Warren Moon, the former defensive winger Bruce Smith and the former secondary Ray Lewis. Steinberg hopes to welcome football players in the messenger team in the future.
“There is hope and people should know that they can get treatment,” said Steinberg.
