The Rio Rancho police department launched an investigation into allegations after rumors turned into the alleged incident of March 25 in the community of the Cueva high school. Several players from the Cueva high school may have drunk from the allegedly contaminated water jug.
The entire Rio Rancho university baseball team was suspended in the middle of the investigation.
“We want to clearly indicate that the alleged behavior is obnoxious and does not represent the expected standards and values of all students who frequent Rio Rancho public schools,” said Wyndham Kemsley, Director of acting executive communications from Rio Rancho public schools.
