If you’ve been looking forward to the Garmin Cirqa, we have some slightly disappointing but unsurprising news: It appears this screen-less wearable will lack ANT+, GPS, and Wi-Fi.
This is according to a certification listing for a device believed to be the Cirqa found on the Integrated Regulatory Information System (IRIS) in Singapore, spotted by The5kRunner (via NotebookCheck).
The listing only reveals Bluetooth for connectivity, which means the Garmin Cirqa – assuming that’s what it’s all about – would have to pair with a nearby smartphone in order to track things like distances and routes while running or cycling.
So if you prefer to workout without your phone, this rumored wearable may not be for you.
Bring it into line with its competitors
While that’s a shame, it’s not really surprising given that competing screenless devices like the Fitbit Air and Whoop 5.0 also don’t have built-in GPS.
But that means the Cirqa will likely align with them, rather than rise above them. This could have been a clear differentiator that would help Garmin’s next device beat its main competitors, but the brand apparently didn’t seize this opportunity.
Still, for those who already wear a Garmin watch, or just like the Garmin brand but want something without a screen, the Cirqa will probably still be the obvious choice, so there will likely be a built-in audience for it.
We’ll likely soon find out exactly what the Garmin Cirqa has to offer – and whether it has any other ways to stand out – with previous leaks pointing to a mid-2026 launch.
