The implementation of the nearly Rs 18.71 trillion federal budget for the financial year 2026-2027 will officially begin on July 1.

President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday signed the Finance Bill 2026-27 after its passage by Parliament, paving the way for the federal budget to come into effect from July 1 after its publication in the Official Gazette.
With the President’s assent, the Finance Bill will now be sent to the Printing Office of Pakistan for publication in the Official Gazette.
Once the Gazette notification is published, Finance Law 2026-27 will officially come into force, bringing the federal budget and all associated fiscal measures into force at the start of the new financial year.
According to Finance Ministry sources, the implementation of the nearly Rs 18.71 trillion federal budget for the financial year 2026-27 will officially begin on July 1.
All tax measures, duty revisions and other fiscal provisions contained in the finance law will also come into force on the same date.
The finance law provides for a seven percent increase in civil servants’ salaries and pensions, while the revised tax and tax structure approved as part of the budget will also become applicable from July 1.
