The Princess Royal carried out an engagement ceremony on April 30, 2026, attending the traditional raising of the White Ensign at Sir John Hawkins Hospital in Chatham.
Anne took part in the official proceedings at the historic naval charity site, where the White Ensign was raised in a ceremony reflecting the institution’s service, remembrance and deep links with maritime communities.
The event highlighted the hospital’s enduring role in supporting naval personnel and preserving its centuries-old heritage in the Medway region.
Previously, the princess attended an international conference in Birmingham on April 29, 2026.
The morning began at St James’s Palace, where The Princess Royal, in her capacity as Colonel-in-Chief of the Intelligence Corps, formally received senior military officials in a formal change of command.
The meeting marked the transition from the resignation of General Sir James Hockenhull as Colonel Commandant to Major General Matthew Jones taking up the role.
She then traveled to Birmingham for the inaugural annual conference of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine at the International Convention Centre.
