Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has responded to an influencer’s viral criticism that the famously bald star sells shampoo.
The 54-year-old actor made fun of himself after TikTok creator Katy Napier posted a video of her stumbling upon his men’s personal care brand, Papatui, in a store.
Showing off the hair products on the shelf right next to a life-size ad of Johnson’s completely hairless head, the influencer joked to her audience that they shouldn’t give up on their dreams because The Rock is successfully selling shampoo and conditioner despite being bald.
The viral clip quickly racked up more than 5 million likes, prompting Johnson to post the video on social media while dressed in character with long locks like Maui for the upcoming live-action film. Moana movie.
Simply smiling at the camera, the Hollywood star admitted in her caption that the joke made her “belly laugh… HARD”, before playfully adding that sometimes a demigod’s radiant, lovely hair needs shampoo and conditioner.
Approving Maui’s good-natured response, the action star even teased the influencer by revealing he had a little gift on his way to her.
The line of grooming items is part of Johnson’s personal care brand, Papatui, initially launching in Target stores in 2024.
